Xavier High School is a three-story, 131,000 sf Catholic High School for boys in Middletown, CT. The building was built circa 1961 and an addition was added in 1998. CES has completed several projects on the campus, including a study of the school’s existing HVAC system, athletic fields, additions and building commissioning.

The general intent of the existing HVAC system report was to determine the  condition of the existing mechanical systems, including roof mounted equipment, boilers and indoor air handling equipment. The report also provided recommendations for replacement and upgrades of the existing HVAC systems for both equipment and energy efficiency.

CES also provided MEP/ FP engineering design services for a new addition centered around a  music rehearsal space that also houses two  classrooms. Also included in the project scope, was a new lighted multi-purpose synthetic turf field inside a reconstructed track and a natural grass baseball field with dugouts and bullpen areas. The turf field features irrigation and subsurface drainage. In a later phase, a 1,000-seat home grandstand seating area with press box and 500-seat visitor grandstands along with supporting facilities for rest rooms, team rooms, storage, and ticket/ concessions was also constructed.
