Located in the North End section of Hartford, this 40-year-old building will be undergoing an “extreme makeover” estimated to cost nearly $100,000,000. The school was built in 1974, and the 370,000 sq. ft. existing building was originally designed for 2,000 students. Enrollment has taken a drastic drop to just 900, in result, the building will be reduced in size by 100,000 sq. ft. during the renovation.
The renovation will create a consolidated space for three of the City’s magnet schools including Journalism and Media Academy, Kinsella Magnet High School, and High School Inc., which focuses on business and finance.
CES is providing the MEP engineering design for this extensive renovation project.
