Established in 1906, the Kent School is a private, co-educational college preparatory school that sits on 1,200 acres situated between the Appalachian Trail and the Housatonic river. There are approximately 560 students, 510 of which board on campus.

This new 3 story dormitory was constructed of structural steel framing on composite piles and concrete foundation wall. CES provided full MEP/FP design services and full building commissioning for this new construction project. The MEP system design for this new dormitory includes a geothermal heat pump system connected to in-slab radiant heating, highly energy efficient lighting, low consumption plumbing equipment, and campus utility extensions for fire protection, waste and water utilities.

While the project Owner decided not to pursue LEED certification, the project would likely qualify for LEED gold level of performance.

CES also provided building commissioning services for this project.
