Size 30,000 sq.ft.
Hill House is a thirty-seven apartment congregate home for well-elderly people of low to moderate income. Hill House was founded in 1978 in response to the need for increased elderly housing as
identified by the Greenwich Commission on Aging, and the increased demand and need for additional below-market housing.
CES provided MEP engineering services for the expansion of the property with 24 additional apartments, for a total of 61 apartments. Upgrades will include air cooled variable refrigerant heat pump system for multi zone temperature control in each residence and common areas. High efficiency natural gas centralized domestic hot water and recirculation system provide this new Hill House facility addition with ample cost effective hot water. Energy recovery central systems serve as exhaust, ventilation, and preconditioning of fresh air through out the new building. Each residence is designed to be electrically and mechanically isolated through easily accessible controls, valves and branch circuit panels. This extra level of attention in the design will have long term dividends to Hill Houses maintenance, trouble shooting and emergency management preparations.
