This complex of eleven separate residence halls houses 336 students in six-person suites. The separate buildings were planned to accommodate the steep hillside with a minimum of excavation. They also create neighborhoods and have allowed the students to assign identities to each house, such as the “French house” or the “non-smokers’ house.”

The additions to this popular sports and recreation center included a new Olympic size pool, locker rooms and office space. The CES design incorporates a new fire alarm system, electrical service and boiler plant which serve both the existing and the new facilities. With special design considerations such as a new waste water treatment plant, the challenge was to design a state-of-the-art facility within the owner’s limited budget.
