Established in 1906, the Kent School is a private, co-educational college preparatory school situated on 1,200 acres between the Appalachian Trail and the Housatonic river.
This three-story, 80-bed dormitory was constructed of structural steel framing on composite piles with a concrete foundation wall. CES provided full MEP/FP design services and  building commissioning for this new construction project. The MEP system design included a geothermal heat pump system connected to in-slab radiant heating, high energy efficient lighting, low consumption plumbing equipment, and campus utility extensions for fire protection, waste, and utilities.

While the project owner decided not to pursue LEED certification, the project would likely qualify for LEED gold level performance.
