CES Collects over 9,000 Food Donations to Win the Salvation Army's Architects and Engineers Can Challenge
CES has collected over 9,000 food items for the Salvation Army Architects and
Engineers Challenge and is this year's winner! The Salvation Army established
the Architects and Engineers Can Challenge back in 1989 that invites local architecture
and engineering firms to compete for top honors by gathering donations of non
perishable food items and cash for the areas Salvation Army food support
services. The number of items divided by the number of employees determines the
winner.
CES holds the record
for the largest monetary and food donation of the industry participants and
over the past 12 years, CES has only lost once. These accomplishments are due
to the internal competition CES employees hold. The employees are divided into
teams and each team competes to see who can collect the most cans and cash.
Over the past decade, this event has become an intense competition creating a
fun rivalry within the office. The team with the highest per capita wins the
office trophy which is passed on from the previous year's winners when The
Salvation Army comes to collect the firm's donation.
