This beautiful and luxurious Hotel is an award winner and sits atop the famous home of Hershey Chocolate. CES is providing MEP engineering design services along with LEED Consulting for the renovations to this Hotel. Geothermal systems will be installed and serving 10 4500 sf cottages, the 19,000 sf restaurant/meeting center, pool pavilions, and multiple other outbuilding pavilions.

Spa and Arcade Renovations

Ledyard, CT

The project includes changing an existing spa area into a kid's arcade room (ages 4-16) to replace the existing arcade located in another part of the casino. The arcade will be approximately 13,000 square feet.
The arcade will include a tree house, video games, video game tournament area, arcade games, concession area and parent "sanity" area. It will also include a party room, 30' bowling ally, and redemption counter for the kids to trade their tickets in for prizes. Whatever space is left over in the spa area will be turned into a human resource training area and office space. CES provided design services for the renovation of the existing restaurant complete with a new gas-fired furnace, outdoor condensing units, exposed stainless steel spiral ductwork in the main dining room, a new kitchen make-up air system, new electrical service and lighting, emergency generator, and a modified fire protection system.

Additional site lighting components of the expansion used energy-efficient decorative light pole fixtures for aesthetics and security. New mechanical systems consist of multiple air handlers and gas-fired furnaces serve to increase fresh air circulation and provide a more comfortable environment for staff and guests. New fire protection features for the facility included a storage tank and fire pump, domestic water storage tank and booster pump to support both the 100 year old castle and the new additions.

Upgrades to the guest rooms will include new data networking and digital TV service, new HVAC systems including DDC controls, and new plumbing systems. High efficiency building systems and fixtures will ensure long-term energy resource conservation for this local architectural landmark.

The new Visitor’s Center at Hammonasset Beach State Park will consist of four buildings. The Visitor’s Center building will house a reception hall, conference room, a gift shop and administrative spaces. The other three buildings include a reception pavilion, an informal gazebo and a Beach Services facility with rest rooms and changing areas.

The historic Harbor View Hotel & Resort on Martha’s Vineyard was built in 1891, overlooking Martha’s Vineyard’s Edgartown Lighthouse, Edgartown Harbor and Chappaquiddick Island. The hotel is flanked by historic homes from 19th Century whaling captains. CES is providing MEP services for the renovation of the main lobby, a 2000A electrical service upgrade to the main building, and renovations to two 3,000 sq ft cottages.

The old clubhouse was demolished and replaced with a facility that combines timeless architecture with modern amenities. Mechanical systems consist of modulating gas-fired boilers and custom gas-fired rooftop units. These rooftop units harness above-average percentages of outside air, utilize full Demand Control Ventilation and are outfitted with compressor unloading technology for optimum energy savings. The building is fully sprinklered indoors, as well as throughout the screened-in porches and porte cochere.

This project consisted of the complete mechanical and electrical design for a 175,000 square foot, 5,500 seat, indoor theater and concert facility. The mechanical design consisted of a heating, ventilation and air conditioning with 700 tons of air conditioning to support the crowd of visitors. All systems were designed for a noise criteria (NC) rating of 20 or less. The electrical system consisted of a 4,000 amp power distribution network, both fixed and “show” power as well as emergency power.

A series of additions and renovations were made to the existing course, clubhouse, pro shop, commercial kitchen, and Angelo’s on Main Restaurant and Tavern. The expanded dining services offer fine dining in the main dining room and casual, lighter fare in the adjoining tavern, complete with panoramic views of the course. HVAC systems included split air handling units with grade mounted condensing units and modular boilers. The electrical systems included a new underground service entrance and architectural lighting.

CES provided design services for the renovations to this municipal pool complex. The renovations included an Olympic size pool, filter rooms, and a bathhouse.

This French Brasserie is located across the street from Yale’s old Main Gate and is a popular romantic dining spot, with its linen tablecloths, Tiffany-inspired stained glass windows and a roaring fire. Housed in the historic Sherman building (named after the first city Mayor), this 1860’s restaurant was renovated for life safety code compliance, improved kitchen ventilation and a new lighting design. Most importantly, a full second kitchen was added on the second level of the restaurant to improve staff traffic flow and timing for its private function and banquet patrons.
