The design for this new office building included a complete energy management system for the HVAC and lighting controls, and a cellular floor deck for power and telecommunications. The project also incorporated a 5,000 square foot data center, pre-action cycling, FM200 fire suppression systems, an emergency generator and an uninterruptible power supply system.

This international law firm has one of its seven offices located in Downtown Hartford, residing in the prominent 280 Trumbull Street Building. A complete tenant fit-up of the top five floors of the building was completed to reflect the level of prestige commanded by the firm and its clients. Mechanical systems for the new office space include Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes for optimum climate control despite fluctuating occupancy levels throughout the day.

On Call Engineering Services

East Hartford/Middletown, CT

CES is providing multi-year on call engineering services for Pratt & Whitney, manufacturer of engines for commercial and military aerospace, industrial applications and beyond. Services to date have included, building and department consolidation, revisions to lab humidification,relocation of mission-critical departments, including Security and Fire, and general code updates and revisions to multiple facilities

CES has completed over 40 projects at CHUBB Executive risk over the past eight years. These projects have ranged from a $30 million addition, to complete renovation of the fitness center and cafeteria, to master plan revisions, to small departmental fit-outs throughout the campus. Services have included mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design, lighting and security design, revisions to the technology infrastructure and building systems commissioning.

This 100 year old mill was the site of the E.E. Dickenson Company, manufacturers of witch hazel, a New England-grown topical medicine. The mill was converted to a retail/office building, and was designed to include many elements to link its historic past to the present. Spaces were designed to be adaptable to various tenants, with changeable lighting and climate controls.

CES has completed several projects at this 13-story tower, including feasibility studies for reuse of spaces, renovations to several floors, renovations to the central heating and cooling plant, kitchen and cafeteria, as well as new offices located on the parking level.

CES redesigned the main lobby’s lighting systems to enhance its newly renovated features, and to give the lobby a sense of elegance and prestige. This project earned CES an Illumination Design Award from the International Illuminating Engineering Society of North America.

This terminal and hangar services business travelers to and from Pfizer’s Groton, Connecticut location. Expansion to the existing facilities included larger terminal space and increased passenger amenities.

This conference center in the round is set on Avon Mountain overlooking the Farmington Valley. Complete renovations to this corporate retreat included a fire protection water cistern, architectural baseboard radiant heat, central air handling units with VAV distribution and direct digital controls. A new full-service commercial kitchen was also part of this project, providing greater food service options for staff, clients and guests.

CES is providing on call MEP engineering services for the entire Webster Bank corporate infrastructure, including corporate offices, data centers, ranging from 500 square feet to 200,000 square feet. Sustainable design elements and energy efficiency are key factors for all projects under this multi-year on call contract.
